RSF strongly condemns the recent indiscriminate air bombings and deliberate targeting

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemns the recent indiscriminate air bombings and deliberate targeting of innocent civilians by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its extremist backers linked to the former regime. These abhorrent acts in Kabkabiya, North Darfur State, on Monday, led to the tragic loss of unarmed civilian lives and inflicted injuries on many others.

These cowardly attacks, including the deployment of barrel bombs on residential neighborhoods, have left innocent civilians trapped and their homes destroyed, demonstrating a deplorable disregard for humanity. These actions, occurring during the holy month of Ramadan, reflect a complete lack of conscience as innocent children, women, and the elderly are mercilessly targeted.

In addition to the loss of innocent civilian lives and injuries, extensive destruction has been inflicted, with 15 homes and schools leveled to the ground in Kabkabiya alone. Further attacks in El Fasher and Kutum have resulted in additional civilian casualties and injuries.

Just days ago, similar treacherous attacks in North Darfur claimed the lives of three civilians, including a 10-year-old girl, and wounded 11 others. Attacks on the city of Naima in White Nile State and the village of Um Sonut in Gezira State have also resulted in further casualties among innocent citizens.

These criminal acts, perpetrated by a SAF leadership that has been hijacked by the former regime, serve no purpose but to suppress defenseless civilians. The repeated occurrence of such attacks across various cities and villages underscores the insecurity and desperation of those responsible.

The RSF remains steadfast in its condemnation of these barbaric acts and reaffirms its commitment to restoring dignity and sovereignty, while building a nation based on new and equitable foundations.
